What is Scout?

    • Learning and teaching about God and how Jesus is who we look up to as a role model for us.
  • Education for life
    • Develops self-knowledge and the need to explore, to discover and to want to know.
  • Fun with a purpose
    • Uses activities and games for the purpose of building our spiritual, physical, intellectual and social lives.
  • A worldwide movement
    • Meaning that it branches out around the world in more than 216 countries.

    • Scout is for all ages
  • A code of living
    • A Spiritual Dimension — A commitment to seek the spiritual value of life beyond the material world.
    • A Social Dimension — Participating in the development of society, and respecting the dignity of others and the integrity of the natural world. Promoting local, national, and international peace, understanding, and cooperation.
    • A Personal Dimension — Developing a sense of personal responsibility and stimulating the desire for responsible self-expression.

Protocol:

  • Salute
  • Every team has a leader
  • Every team has their own protocol
    • Ex: Middle school – Scout\serving .. Serving is \ general
    • Ex: Highschool- Rangers\ serving.. Serving is \ general
  • How to stand
  • Hand gestures and what they mean?

Division of teams and leaders:

  • Elementary: Cups and buds “depending on the ages and the attendance”
  • Middle School: Scout
  • High school/ College: Rangers
  • Leaders team will be distributed on the three teams
    • Note: This division will constantly change depending on attendance

Curriculum:

  • Scout Promise:
    • By the grace of God, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the scout law,  to help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight
  • Scout Law:
    • Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, & reverent
  • The curriculum will be based on the promise and the law.
  • Depending on the grade you will be teaching, each week should include both for memorization and the lesson should include one-factor od a scouts law.
  • Activities should include but not limited to:
  • Codes
  • Types of fire
  • Knots
  • Construction and building
